Rose Bliss Smoothie

Hello Lovelies!

Lately I have been skipping the frozen banana in my smoothies and going with something more crisp and light.  I am in heaven this season with the amazing organic apples the local farms have been growing, so I have been using lots of apples lately.

This smoothie is light, blissfully refreshing.  Hints of citrus and apples.  This is not a meal replacement by any means.  It's a perfect pre-drink to your a.m. breakfast.

Actually-I make my smoothies the moment I wake up so I can take them in the shower with me.  I know that sounds weird, but sometimes after washing my hair, I take a seat in my shower and relax with a refreshing smoothie in a wine glass with a straw.  It makes me feel like I am on vacation on an island somewhere, under a waterfall.  It's quite nice and quite relaxing.  Try it.

1/2 large cucumber
1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1 medium dessert apple
1/2 Tbsp-1 Tbsp. raw vegan coconut butter
Juice from 1/2 lime
Juice from 1/2 red grapefruit
1/2 tsp. Rose Water
Ice cubes

Serves 2

This one is super easy.  Just throw it all in the Nutribullet or high speed blender and blend away.  Add the ice last.  Then re-blend again.

Helpful hint: If you go with organic fruits you will notice a HUGE difference in taste.  I have noticed that when I buy organic, the flavor is so alive.  If buying organic is too much money, then I recommend that you at least buy organic apples.  I'm telling you.  Such a world of a difference!

Helpful hint: Even though I have already added ice to my smoothie, I always put an extra 1 or two ice cubes in my glass before pouring the smoothie into it.  I like my smoothies extra cold.

Helpful hint: You don't have to use rose water extract.  You can add in which ever extract you would like whether it be vanilla, lavender, orange, lemon, mint…the possibilities are endless.

Enjoy! Julie

Magnolia Bakery-Cream Cheese Frosting

Another amazing frosting recipe from Magnolia!  I swear by these recipes, this is my go-to book for icing when I bake!! 1 pound (two 8-ounce packages) cream cheese, softened and cut into small pieces 6 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened and cut into small pieces 1 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract 5 cups sifted confectioners' sugar In a large bowl, on the medium speed of an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth, about 3 minutes.  Add the vanilla and beat well.  Gradually add the sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating continuously until smooth and creamy.  Cover and refrigerate icing for 2-3 hours, but no longer, to thicken before using. Makes enough for one 2-or 3-layer 9-inch cake Enjoy! xoxo Julie www.goodiegoodiegluten-free.blogspot.com

Not All Advil Is Gluten-Free!!!

After last night's POST , GF Advil was on my mind and I decided to call Advil/Pfizer this morning to get some more clarification.  In response to my post last night I advised through the website that Advil Liqui-gels, Advil Migraine and Advil Liqui-Gels PM contain a wheat derivative.  After my phone call with a lovely representative I received more information. - ALL ADVIL LIQUI-GELS contain a wheat derivative .   ALL LIQUI-GELS.  So stop these immediately if you are taking the Liqui-gels.  You maybe getting sick from a medication rather then a food and this is so important to recognize!  Just steer clear of Liqui-Gels. -ALL FORMS OF ADVIL MIGRAINE contain gluten .  There is no further information if it is just the Liqui-Gels or the Tablets, Caplets and Gel-Caps.  Pfizer does not have this info therefore they informed me to steer clear of all Advil Migraine pills. Here is what IS GLUTEN-FREE FROM ADVIL: All Advil Tablets, Gel...
